"Drôles de Marmots was born from a desire to create and a desire for freedom."
Behind the brand is Kelly, 31 years old, married to Eymeric and mother of two funny kids.
"The birth of my first child gave me the desire to start my own business. From the first months of my son's life, his atopic eczema made me interested in the composition of his food, hygiene products and clothes. In the summers, I couldn't find swimwear that combined style, sun protection and transparency on manufacturing and materials. In my spare time, I started to learn about the market, the main players and their production methods. That's when my crazy entrepreneurial adventure began. I wanted to make myself useful and bring a solution to all the families looking for trendy, anti-UV and eco-friendly swimwear for their kids. That's where Drôles de Marmots was born: a committed and caring swimwear brand."
Drôles de Marmots is a range of anti-UV and eco-responsible swimwear for babies. The swimming costumes are designed to make dressing and changing nappies easier thanks to snap buttons at the crotch. The brand offers swimwear for babies, kids and women.
For this first collection, we have chosen to combine pastel and earthy colours.
The models are timeless.
"It is by knowing how to surround yourself with the right people that you can hope to take off."
It was with Loreleï, a Parisian stylist, that the project materialized. Always listening and giving good advice, she never counted the hours she spent making, unmaking and redoing the collection plans.
Julie, a graphic designer from Savoie, is behind the logo, the liberty motif and the illustrations on our website. She has always been creative and reactive on her different missions.
Marion and Arnaud are the creators of the website. They are based in Haute Savoie, a few kilometres from the head office.
All fabrics are manufactured and printed in Northern Italy by companies that share our values.
Our production facility is located a few kilometres from the fabric manufacturer and printer. It is a family business with 15 employees. From the very first discussions, our collaboration was a matter of course. With 40 years of experience, they specialise in the creation of swimwear and lingerie. They bring quality, style and Italian know-how to swimwear.
From the beginning of the project, we shared everything on social networks. We decided to have a participatory community in the development of the brand. It is our followers on Instagram and Facebook who chose the logo, the colours of the shirts or the sizes.
“Our community on the networks is very important, they are our customers! While we were developing the collection plan, we let our followers on Instagram and Facebook choose their favourite swimming costume between two models. They chose the Layla model, the strapless bodysuit. This model is your model! We loved sharing this strategic choice and will continue to do so in the future.”
